Results!
In my survey to find who is obsessed as I am with photography I found multiple things, after 40 people responded. One is that girls respond way more to surveys then guys do, but that’s besides the fact. Over eighty-nine percent of the people who responded do have cameras and about eight percent want one so that leaves about three percent who either don’t have one or just don’t want one. That’s a great result to me! But only about thirty-three percent actually carry their camera everywhere they go, which is still good. Surprisingly the same amount has taken a photography class at sometime in their life, and ten percent wish to do so. Sixty-four percent of the people surveyed only use computer editing software’s that came on the computer, which leaves roughly thirty-eight that have something like Photoshop or better. With the last question asking “Do you have pictures hanging in your room?” about thirty-five percent reported that they do have many pictures hanging up, and ten percent doesn’t have any. So at least ninety percent of the group have pictures up and around their room even if it’s not an excessive amount.
The results kind of shocked me, I didn’t think that many people had cameras or even took a class. I included a picture of the results of the question “Do you own your own camera?” for everyone to look at. Enjoy.

Response & Summary
In this article “How to Turn a Photography Obsession into a Money-Making Opportunity” by Robin Cena explains that photography doesn’t only have to be an obsession you could turn it into a business. He talks about how people go to photography studios so they end up making themselves look better after the photographer has edited there pictures and took out all the facial flaws. He also goes into detail about how easy it is to learn Photoshop and use tutorials to create better looking pictures.
I do believe that Photography could be used for making money; I have had a couple people that I know say they would pay me to take pictures for them. I am also certified in Photoshop which is very easy to pick up and use. The amount of stuff you can do with Photoshop is crazy. All you need is a computer and a good camera to make money off of your pictures. I also agree with the author when he says that the tutorials are fun and easy to do, you can make yourself look like a fairy in an enchanted forest. An obsession can be more than just an obsession, but who wouldn’t want an obsession that makes you money?

Story time
"I think if we jump the fence and walk a little ways the railroad tracks are right there," my boyfriend said as we pulled up to a barb wired fence. I jumped off the four-wheeler and thought about it and asked "are you sure we can do that?" "It won’t be that hard..." he answered, "let’s do it then" I said with excitement.
It wasn’t the adrenaline rush to hop a barbed wire fence that got me excited, it was the anticipation of taking the cutest couple pictures on train tracks! I looked over the fence at the path we had to follow, it wasn’t the prettiest and definitely not the most trimmed up path I’ve ever been on. But that was besides the fact, when I looked back to Matt, my boyfriend, he was slowly un-doing the barbed wire fencing so all we had to do was jump the fence, easy right? That alone took like 10 minutes, but once we were over it was photo-shoot time.
I couldn’t jump fences and hike a path while holding a tri-pod so all I had to do was find something to hold my camera. Harder than I thought. After looking everywhere the best I came up with was an old tire that someone had left on the side of 75. Yes, the tracks were right next to a major highway, and we were pretty sure they weren’t used anymore. As you can see the shoot was a success!

Picture This
I’m pretty good at imaging things or “picturing” stuff before it happens, which kind of pushes my obsession on me. I’ll be at the beach and ill plan out the image I am going to take, which leads me running to go get my lovely camera. It’s like picking out what you want on a menu of food and getting it served to you.
The worst part about my obsession for my boyfriend is I drag him through all the couple pictures I plan out, but he learned to love it. Its mood swings, he has to deal with. And it’s not only taking the picture, but its opening up the picture on to my computer and figuring out the best way to make it pretty, or make it photography. With so many options and edits, I could be on the same picture for hours. It’s a new born baby, so many choices it has. I have over 2,000 maybe even 3,000 pictures on my computer, and I am pretty sure they’ve all been through my editor. It’s like airport security, none slips by.
The obsession tastes like your favorite drink on a hot summer day; it smells like your favorite cologne, it’s the sound of the shutter when you just took the perfect shot; it’s the look on people’s faces when they see the finished product. Its accomplishment.
